Scholarly creation

This assignment required us to develop a distinctive mark while working within some strict design standards.  We also had to handle a mark with four elements – at least one more than you usually see.  But it all worked out in the end, thanks in large part to the invaluable input and guidance we received from our clients at the University of Toronto.

Taste tempting design

Here's proof that an attractive logo can be designed with nothing more than an innovative font and dramatic colors.

Making the shift

How do you communicate the ability to make a paradigm shift? With one little twist in the font treatment, proving – once again – that in logo design, less is more.

Paradigm Shift

An elementary assignment

K12 decision Maker logo

For the above logo, we created the product name, graphic design and the support line.  The finished product is a mini commercial for the product – a decision support software tool, created for elementary school planners (mostly women – hence the bright colors), that allows the user to put the right resource in the right place at the right time.

Too bad more logo designers, including those logo template folks on the net, didn't look at logos as advertisements, not an excuse to create self indulgent, complicated, multi-element graphics with no strong, central graphic, the hallmark of great logos.  Don't believe me?  Look at the logos of the major brands.  Not a one has the multi-element logos that are so often sold (at high prices) to unexpecting clients who don't know better.
